Do I need a muffler to p New York State Inspection?

I live in Albany NY and I bought a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. I am registering it tomorrow and inspecting it too. When I bought the car it did not have a muffler so I bought one from Autozone but I did not install it. The Plymouth has a cat converter though. Just want to know will I still p inspection without a muffler? Any answer would be appreciated.
