Doing jobs under your qualifications?
I have computer science and life science university degree. I recently changed from permanent job at a small company to a 1 year contract temp job in the government. I don't like my current job because I do data entry and I deliver CDs to the tester, do filing and scan things into the computer. I am frustrated because I don't know if this is worth my time, my goal is to work as an yst in the government so I am hopping this would be a stepping stone to an yst position in the government since a lot of jobs are posted internally. I am not worried about getting permanent since my manager said on the first day that he can use my programming skills but since my current position is admin istant so he cannot give me programming job. yst positions (the type I want) rarely have an opening in government department I am in, apparently 2 weeks before I started the job someone said they were hiring a Business yst person which is what I am studying now. Anyways I have been thinking should I do Master's degree. My parents kinna depend on me for money so I cannot quit a full time job to study full time. I was thinking of next year if I do get permanent I would have company pay for my education and I would study master's part time. I just don't know what to do. Should I quit government job and work elsewhere or just bite the bullet and hope everything works out next year.
