How to get an ex back?

So I dated this guy for 10 months and really had a great time with him. He lived an hour away, so we only got to see each other once a week or so. That was fine, but things got really rocky. He was saying if he did not know if I was the right girl and that I deserved better. I got so fed up that I broke up with him. I gave it 2 days and then texted him saying that I wanted him back and put my whole heart on the table. He said that not now do I want to get back with you and maybe in weeks I will have realized that this was a bad decision. He still wants to tex me, but does not initiate the conversation. What should I do to get him back? I am going to not talk to him until he talks to me, also I am going to get a makeover with my hair todday. Do u think that will help?
